Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues
Describe it in 25 words or less.
Pete: A News Reader loses his job to his wife and must find a way to win back both career and family.
Brigette: Catch up with the whole Channel 4 News team and join them on their next adventure.
Any particular reason for choosing this film?
Pete: After watching “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy” I thought this would just as good.
Genre:
Pete & Brigette: Comedy
Who was your favorite character and why?
Pete: Brick Tamland because he was ridiculously funny.
Brigette: Veronica Corningston because she fought for her family.
Who was your least favorite character and why?
Pete: Jack Lime because of his arrogance.
Brigette: Kench Allenby because he was greedy.
How was the casting?
Pete: Lots of big names with a couple of new actors too.
Brigette: I enjoyed the new characters introduced in the fight scene, but felt the others had lost a lot of their mojo.
Did it grab you immediately or did it take a while?
Pete: It grabbed me immediately but wasn’t as funny as Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.
Brigette: I was really excited to see this one and went into it with high expectations and was sorely disappointed, feeling that the film dragged on a fair bit.
Favorite quote:
Pete: “Who the hell is Julius Caesar? You know I don’t follow the NBA!” – Ron
Brigette: “I have to say this is super creepy and unorthodox.” – Ron
What would you change?
Brigette: I would have liked to see them mix it up and come up with a more original storyline. I felt like they were sticking to a formula: same jokes, an obligatory song, the fight scene again, internal turmoil that didn’t work this time around.
Is it part of a series and have you seen the rest of the series?
Brigette: We recently watched Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy and LOVED it, so this one was a big disappointment for me.
How was the soundtrack?
Brigette: Once again, it was very funky indeed. We’ve put the music from the film on Spotify, Grooveshark and Rdio.
How was the ending?
Pete: Predictable and not as clever as I thought it was going to be.
Brigette: Extremely anti-climatic.
What was the moral of the story?
Pete: It’s never too late to make things better.
Brigette: The love of your friends and family will always be more important than a job.
Who would you recommend it to?
Pete: Anchorman fans.
Brigette: I would only recommend this to die-hard Will Ferrell fans who will see anything and everything he is in whether it’s good or not.
