Star Wars: Episode 3 – Revenge of the Sith

star_wars_episode3

Describe it in 25 words or less.

Pete: Episode III of the Star Wars saga where we see how “The Dark Side” can turn a Jedi.

Brigette: All your questions will be answered in this third installment of the Star Wars prequels.

Morgan: A good explanation for the original episodes.

Gable: The Star Wars saga continued after the Clone Wars, in which Anakin turns to the Dark Side.

Any particular reason for choosing this film?

We watched episodes 4, 5 and 6 with the girls as our 2013 New Year’s Eve movie marathon and are watching episodes 1, 2 and 3 now. Check out our reviews of Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace and Star Wars: Episode 2 – The Attack of the Clones.

Genre:

Pete: Science Fiction/Adventure

Brigette: Science Fiction/Adventure

Morgan: Action/Sci-Fi

Gable: Action/Science Fiction/Drama

Who was your favorite character and why?

Pete: Yoda, because he can take a hit and still keep on swinging.

Brigette: Obi-Wan Kenobi because he always comes from a place of love.

Morgan: Yoda, because he was wise and brave.

Gable: Padmé because she was wise and kind and beautiful, although I do dislike her for only one small reason: She took C3PO with her, not R2!

Who was your least favorite character and why?

Pete: Emperor Palpatine because he is just so incredibly evil.

Brigette: Palpatine because manipulative people aren’t my thing.

Morgan: Darth Vader because he was a complete and utter jerk.

Gable: Darth Vader because he did some very wrong things and he made a fatal mistake, so big that nothing can ever make up for it.

Did it grab you immediately or did it take a while?

Pete: Like nearly all of the Star Wars episodes, it grabbed me immediately. This episode is one that maintained my interest throughout.

Brigette: It grabbed me immediately and I think this is probably the most interesting one of the series.

Morgan: Grabbed me immediately.

Gable: Immediately.

Favorite quote:

Pete: “Death is a natural part of life. Rejoice for those around you who transform into the Force. Mourn them do not. Miss them do not. Attachment leads to jealousy. The shadow of greed that is.” – Yoda

Brigette: “The fear of loss is the path to the dark side” – Yoda.

Morgan & Gable: “Train yourself to let go of everything you fear to lose.” – Yoda

What would you change?

Brigette: The fate of the younglings!

Would you watch it again?

Brigette: Even though I have seen this film before, I was enraptured from the start. I still laughed, cried and mourned like it was the first time.

How was the ending?

Pete: Ending left you wanting to watch Episode IV as soon as possible.

Brigette: It did justice to the original 3 episodes.

Morgan: I had mixed feelings about this particular ending.

Gable: It had three good things about it and one bad. Well, I guess that’s a good thing: more good things happening then bad. Now I understand why the next film in the saga is called “A New Hope”, although that one was very lame.

What was the moral of the story?

Pete: Train yourself to let go… of everything you fear to lose.

Brigette: Fear makes you do crazy things.

Morgan: If you are hateful and fearful, only bad things will occur.

Gable: To trust yourself and your friends and family.

Who would you recommend it to?

Pete: Star Wars and adventure movie fans.

Brigette: Eastern philosophy students and hopeless romantics.

Morgan: Star Wars fans or those who are negative or fearful.

Gable: People who like horror films or a lot of on-the-edge-of-your-seat yet slightly humorous films.
