Describe it in 25 words or less. A documentary about 11 year-olds from around the world.

Any particular reason for choosing this film?

Pete: It was recommended to me by a friend and now that Morgan is 11 I thought it was perfect timing.

Genre: Documentary

Who was your favorite 11 year old and why?

Morgan: Remi, because he wasn’t racist, he was eco-friendly and he was smart.

Gable: Remi because he was smart and kind.

How was the casting?

Pete: I thought it was great selection of 11 year-olds and I especially liked the fact that they were from different backgrounds.

Did it grab you immediately or did it take a while?

Pete: It grabbed me immediately with the film maker’s background as to how she embarked on the story.

Brigette: It was immediately intriguing; there’s something about looking into the lives of others that I find fascinating.

Morgan: It was a very interesting film from the beginning.

Gable: It was very interesting to see how eleven year-olds saw the world but it never really grabbed me.

Favorite quote: “I’m not a citizen of France, I’m a citizen of the world.” – Remi

How was the soundtrack? Nick Huggins did an excellent job of the soundtrack. You can see a “making of” here.

How was the ending?

Gable: It was even more interesting because it showed some of the kids when they were older.

What was the moral of the story?

Pete: Enjoy life.

Brigette: Enjoy those precious childhood years.

Morgan: Childhood should be cherished.

Did you learn anything? That a pamplemousse is a French grapefruit.

Who would you recommend it to?
